Here are the artists we’ll watch compete, backstab and give us their all when the series begins:
In 2008, the Yale Norfolk Summer School of Art selected Abdi into their program, and the following year he spent time studying abroad in Southern France.

On tomorrow night’s episode of Shear Genius, for the first time, Matthew isn’t feeling confident. He’s been one of the stand-outs so far in the season. Is he about to stumble?
Spoiler Alert! This clip, not only shows us who won the shape challenge in the previous clip, but it shows what the Elimination Challenge will be!

On tonight’s episode of Shear Genius, Adee is letting the nerves of the competition get to him. He says that he’s doing as well as a whore at the Vatican. And see why Matthew thinks that “straight guys are babies.” Check out this clip:
The stylists are completely out of their elements when they find out they have to add hair extensions to men’s hair!
Be sure to watch Shear Genius tonight on Bravo at 10/9c.
This week’s episode of Project Runway offered the winner of the challenge the most incredible prize ever offered on Project Runway. The winning look would be worn by Heidi Klum on the cover of the April issue of Marie Claire magazine. WOW!
The magazine’s editor in chief, Joanna Coles gave them some very important rules to follow in their designs:
So of course, half of them created beige, black or patterned outfits and there were both pants and shorts.
The quote of the night was from Joanna Coles, who told this to Anna:
It’s like three ingredients in a dish that leave you feeling slightly nauseous.
And she responded to Janeane saying that her garment was inspired by the ocean:
I’m not getting the beach and the sea reference. Unless it’s a sort of polluted sea with plastic bottles in it. [OUCH!]
The garments loved the most by the judges all were in vibrant colors. The top three looks were those of Ben, Anthony & Emilio. The winning look was that of Anthony.
I liked his look the best and love his personality. So it was great to see him win! His short bright teal dress with the ruffles on the front was beautiful and perfect for Heidi.
The worst looks were those of Mila, Anna & Janeane. Anna’s strange short outfit was just too far off the mark and she was eliminated.
What did you think of the designs for this challenge? Were you happy that Anthony won? Who did you expect to go home? Let us know!
This week, fashion designer and Project Runway winner Christian Siriano was spotted by paparazzi as he enjoyed a night out in New York City. The black trench coat and overall look he wore fits perfectly with the signature Christian style we all grew to love on the show. He’s definitely still looking fierce!
On last night’s season finale of Launch My Line, we found out that Kathy Rose was the designer whose line has been launched. You can buy her new clothing line on RueLaLa. You’ll have to create an account to see the clothing, but if you are a real shopper, it shouldn’t matter.
I did like Kathy’s line the best, but expected Merle to win it. And I would have been happy for any of the final three to win since all three collections were impressive.
Since Kathy’s expert was Emil Gampe, he was given a cash prize too. Here’s a photo of Kathy & Emil with the winning line.
I really enjoyed this season of Launch My Line! I hope there’s a second season. What did you think of the show?
This week, after Pamela was eliminated on Project Runway, her model Sarah was very worried that she would be sent home. But she and the other models went to the industry party and seemed to have fun meeting people in their industry.
The models were also very excited when supermodel Lauren Hutton came backstage to talk to them and give them advice. That was very cool of her!
Elizaveta had to ice her knee, since an old injury was acting up and she had been in a lot of pain on the runway.
But when it came time for the designers to choose models again, it came down to the final two, Elizaveta & Sarah. SethAaron had to make the final choice and he picked Sarah. That meant that Elizaveta was sent home.
How do you feel about this week’s episode? Let us know.
On last night’s episode of Project Runway, the designers were taken to a farm where all of the models waited, wearing burlap potato sacks. Time told them that they would work for their clients, the models, this time and make a dress out of potato sacks that the models can wear to an industry party.
When the models chose their designers, they weren’t as loyal as the designers had been to them. Several of them mixed it up and chose different designers. It really shook some of the designers up a bit.
The designers did things like embellish their burlap with ribbons, buttons and used vats of fabric dye to make them look richer. I was amazed at what they could come up with out of nothing more than burlap.
The guest judge this week was Lauren Hutton. I have to hand it to her. She still looks amazing!
When the garments came down the runway, the one that I absolutely disliked the most was that of Ping. How she didn’t get eliminated this week is beyond me! Her model’s bum was hanging out and the sides of the hips were like giant pouches. This was NOT a flattering garment, or even a garment that anyone would wear anywhere!
Instead, the judges hated the garments of Jesus (which I actually thought was pretty nice) and Pamela. Pamela’s dress wasn’t flattering to her model’s figure, but it was far better than Ping’s. I can’t figure it out.
The judges told Jay that his was the winner this week. I liked it too, but would have chosen Amy’s garment instead. Pamela was sent home.
Which of the garments this week was your favorite? What do you think of Ping’s dress? I’m interested in hearing what you think about it.
On tonight’s episode of Launch My Line, the designers were introduced to the Senior Fashion Editor of Lucky Magazine, Elle Strauss. She told them about the section of her magazine called I Want…But I Need. They were to create a three-piece outfit that would create multiple looks.
In order to choose their “wants” and “needs”, they spun wheels, carnival style. Here’s what they chose:
All the designers were running out of fabric, so the challenge was even more difficult. The designers and the experts were also starting to get on each other’s nerves because of their different ways of working.
The special guest for this challenge was Kara Saun from the first season of Project Runway. She joined the designers to help them with ideas and to encourage them. But once she and Dan & Dean talked to each team, they all felt they were on the wrong track and needed to change their look. The pressure was intense.
When the looks were shown on the runway, the judges told Eric & Kathy that they had the best two looks and they named Kathy the challenge winner.
After discussing the looks of Louanna & Merle, they judges decided to send Louanna home. That means that the three designers that will compete in the finale are Merle, Eric & Kathy.
Who do you think will win the season? Whose garments would you most want to wear? Let us know!
My personal feelings are that it would be a big mistake for Project Runway to return to Los Angeles. I wasn’t the only one who was less than enthused about last season. It just didn’t have the same feel to it and the show almost lost me. I love it that they are back in New York. But here’s what Heidi Klum had to say recently about it:
“We like to change it up, we like to go back and fourth,” the Project Runway judge announced. “So, the [next season] will probably be back in LA again,” Heidi Klum declared. [Source: BuddyTV]
Everyone associated with the show admits that the fact that the designers can walk to Mood to get their fabrics and walk to locations for most of the challenges, everything is so much easier to produce. Here’s how Michael Kors feels about filming the show in New York:
Michael Kors said, “When you think about it, the walks from Parsons to Mood, you could have 500 inspirations within a minute. The bar is raised. I think the energy level is full-tilt boogie. It’s New York. Nothing stops here.” [Source: BuddyTV]
