So You Think You Can Dance: First Week Performances / Music
Jun 12th, 2010 by Lynn DeVries

This season of So You Think You Can Dance is very different from the first 6 seasons. The competition seems to follow the formula for Dancing With the Stars now. Professional (or all-stars) dancers pair up with the competitors with one pair going home each week.

I love the old format and look forward to watching this new one too. Here are photos of the competitors and all-stars this week. And you can download the music for each routine:

Photos: Cat Deeley at London Event

The lovely host of So You Think You Can Dance, Cat Deeley was snapped by the paparazzi recently when she attended The Lancome and Harper’s Bazaar Pre-BAFTA Party in London on February 19. I love the tiny pearls sewn onto her dress and think she looks great, as always. But for some reason, when the photos were taken, she looks like she was unhappy or bored.

America’s Best Dance Crew 5: Crews Go Ga-ga for Gaga
Mar 6th, 2010 by Lynn DeVries

The Brit Awards - Show

<

This week was Lady Gaga Challenge week on America’s Best Dance Crew. As a fan of Lady Gaga, I was excited to see how the crews would perform. They were all brilliant.

The episode began with host Mario Lopez announcing that there had been problems with the voting and to ensure that no one would be sent home unfairly, they would not be sending anyone home this week. To top it off, the judges were going to give one crew Immunity in next week’s show.

But the rough part would be that next week, two crews would be sent packing.

I loved watching all of the routines, but especially Blueprint Cru. I backed up the old TiVo and watched their performance to Gaga’s song Bad Romance three times before I even listened to what the judges had to say. They were just that good!

At the end of the show, Mario announced that the judges had given Blueprint Cru next week’s precious Immunity. (If they hadn’t been the ones to get it, I was ready to send hate mail!) ;-)

So now we will see how things go next week with two eliminated crews. It’s going to be tough to send anyone home. This is an amazing group of crews.

Who are your favorites? Who do you expect to go home next? Let us know!

DWTS Finalist Marie Osmond’s Son Committed Suicide
Feb 27th, 2010 by Lynn DeVries

Marie Osmond Debuts Her Marie Lifestyle Collection

There’s horrible news for Dancing With the Stars finalist Marie Osmond. Her 18-year-old son has committed suicide. This is of course also a tragedy for last season’s DWTS winner, Donny Osmond because the young man was his nephew.

Marie Osmond’s teenaged son, Michael Blosil, has killed himself by leaping to his death around 9 p.m. Friday in Los Angeles, reports Entertainment Tonight, which quotes Marie’s brother, Donny Osmond, as saying, “Please pray for my sister and her family.”

Through her rep, Marie Osmond release a statement Saturday. It says, “My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

According to ET, Michael left a note explaining he intended to end his life after a lengthy battle with severe depression that left him, he said, feeling as if he had no friends and could never fit in. [Source: People]

What a tragic loss! My thoughts and prayers go out to Marie and her entire family.
