Fellow reality TV fan April Mueller has organized what is turning into a well-attended event to support animal rescues in the Glen Allen, Virginia area. She’s already gathered dozens of reality stars to attend the event and more are joining the effort all the time. All it takes for you to spend a day with some fun and interesting reality stars is to attend the event.
I’ve been to reality stars’ charity events in the past and can tell you that the reality stars are chosen to be on the shows because they are fun, outgoing and easy to talk to. So imagine a place with tons of them, wine to taste and the day to enjoy them. You don’t want to miss this event!!
The event is called Reality Rescue Fundraiser Festival for Angel Dog Rescue Inc. and Heavenly Hounds.

Next week on Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, the castaways find out that there are two Immunity Idols hidden on the island. Russell is the champ for finding them, but will he this time? And how will this change the dynamics of the game? Take a look:
On this week’s episode of Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, Tom felt betrayed by JT because of the way he voted at last week’s Tribal Counsel. JT apologized, but Tom still held feelings of mistrust but he felt he could still work with JT to be able to stay longer.
Meanwhile, Parvati was doing her best to beguile all the men on the Villains tribe. Coach swears it doesn’t work on him, but Russell seems under the evil spell. Coach & Jerri seem close too, with Coach stroking her hair as she sleeps. And Boston Rob gives us the key to figuring out who is aligned with whom in Survivor:
Watch how they sleep. They won’t usually sleep next to the guy they are going to send home.
Rupert worried that the Heroes were not a cohesive team. But then they bonded while catching more chickens. Tom is still great at wrangling things. First it was the shark, now it’s chickens.
Coach & Boston Rob were trying to get the Russell and the rest of the Villains to vote off Parvati. Russell was still talking his cocky talk and wasn’t convinced. He ran straight to Parvati and told her.
Russell decided to play his games and he buried the machete. That means no fire, no chickens and no coconuts. He said that he planned to hide Rob’s hat too.
At the Immunity Challenge, the Heroes handed the Villains their a$$es. They had to square off, sumo style and had to use a bag to knock the other person off of a platform into mud. The Heroes won 8 out of 9 rounds. They won Immunity, coffee, sugar, rice and items from home.
The Villains were torn between sending home Randy or Parvati. Both of them were campaigning to stay. At Tribal Counsel, they voted and sent Randy home.

I can’t tell you how very sad I am today to report that Survivor: Palau veteran Jenn Lyon lost her battle with breast cancer on Tuesday evening.
I had the privilege of meeting and sharing some wonderful laughs and fun with Jenn at a charity event in her honor in the fall of 2008. She was one of the kindest, most thoughtful people I have had the pleasure to meet. I had hoped that she would be able to beat the cancer with her strength and positive attitude. Sadly, she died at home after a five year battle. She was 37 years old.
Entertainment Weekly has a lengthy article about Jenn, and shares the words of Jeff Probst and her family members about her life. Here’s a short excerpt:
Jeff Probst: “Because the previous Christmas had been so rough, this year she decided to open a Christmas tree lot so she could extend the holidays for as long as possible. Then in typical Jenn fashion she made the decision to donate profits to the Susan Love Cancer Research Foundation. The tree lot was a major undertaking yet there she was every day doing her part to try to raise money to make sure nobody else had to ever endure the same struggle.” Kim Lyon: ‘Jenn worked so hard on the lot and they were kind of bummed they didn’t make much money off of it so if anyone wants to honor Jenn they can make a donation to the foundation. She would be touched.’

Jenn had a way of spreading joy and making everyone at ease with her. She was such a lovely spirit. She captured everyone’s hearts almost immediately. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the people who loved Jenn. She’ll be missed by so many.

No, Jenna Morasca does not have cancer, but she has been dating fellow Survivor winner Ethan Zahn since 2003 and he has had his Hodgkin’s disease return. She has vowed to stay and fight it with him.
We all remember that Jenna left the Survivor: All-Stars season early because she wanted to be with her mother who was dying of cancer. She’s had a lot of experience being supportive of cancer patients. And this time, she plans to help him be a winner over it.
Here’s what Jenna says about finding out about the return of Ethan’s cancer:
“I was going to fight tooth and nail, with every fiber of my being, until he was better,” Jenna tells In Touch. “Our goal was making cancer our bitch!”
Jenna has done an interview in the current issue of In Touch Weekly and she talks at length about the battle she has undertaken to help Ethan. Here’s a short excerpt from the interview:
How did you react to the news that he was sick?
I was shocked. I had been through it with my mom, who died from cancer, so I felt like, “Why is this happening again?” But it brought me and my dad closer because I was able to rely on him for his experience with her. He is a savior. Also, I’m lucky to have an incredible group of women around me who have borne the same burden.
How has it affected your relationship?
We’ve learned things about each other and the value of our relationship that we may have never discovered if we had never been faced with this challenge. It’s a team effort. We are going to come out stronger.
Is marriage next?
Before, I would have said I didn’t know, but I think now, we owe it to ourselves and to our families to do some sort of wedding. I’m trying to get him to just go to Las Vegas. How romantic would it be? Then we could do a big ceremony later. All I care about is the cake!

Last night’s season finale of Survivor: Samoa showed the final five castaways battling it out to be part of the final three. The first one to go home was Jaison, Then, when Russell managed to win the last immunity, Brett was eliminated next. At the finale event, Jeff Probst announced that Natalie won the title of Sole Survivor and the $1 million.
Natalie’s strategy was to play below the radar and let Russell be the snake he always was. It really worked for her. She wasn’t disliked by anyone and her way of playing was the one that the jury liked the best. I would have voted for her to win too.
Russell took issue with her winning, since he felt that his tactic of arrogance, burning socks and dumping out the canteens in order to manipulate everyone was the best game. He offered Natailie $100,000 to let him have the title of Sole Survivor. She turned him down. (Good for her!)
Jaison made the observation that we’ve all worked with people that were like Russell. They’re the people who lie, point fingers, cheat, steal the credit for others’ work…and then they get the promotion instead of the people who worked hard and played fair. We all hate those people. That’s why I hated the thought that Russell’s tactics would win. Thank goodness he didn’t!
Personally, I don’t understand why so many of the audience members like him. He’s exactly the kind of person that we have all been bullied by, cheated out of promotions by and have just generally disliked. Why is that behavior ok on a reality show? I just don’t get it.<?
But since Russell will be a part of the Villians team for the next season of Survivor, he has a chance to redeem himself. (And everyone will have seen how he plays the game…) That should be interesting.
On tonight’s Survivor: Samoa, the castaways started with an auction. Here were the auction items:
John went in search of the Immunity Idol and realized that it wasn’t where the clue said it was so Russell must have it. When he talked to Russell, Russell decided that John was a threat and he talked the others into voting off John.
Dave killed the chickens for lunch and Shambo took the loss very hard since she had become very attached to them. When Dave came to ask her about how she was cooking them, she got angry. That night, she dreamt that the tribe voted off Dave, so she told the others to vote for him to go.
Russell told Dave that Shambo was gunning for him and that he needed to vote with the Foa Foa members to get rid of John and he agreed.
At the Immunity Challenge, Jaison’s advantage proved to be worth the money he spent because he won immunity.
At Tribal Counsel, John was completely blindsided when the tribe voted to send him out. Shambo was surprised too. She may not stay with the Foa Foa votes now because of this.

Lots of strategy and scheming happens in front of Nate while he is still with the Aitu tribe. He’s, of course, smart enough to take lots of mental notes to bring back to his own tribe. We’ll see how this all plays out for him.
Jessica in Aitu said that she was completely surprised by Cao Boi’s elimination. She said that no one would tell her who was going. (Gee, I’ve watched enough Survivor to know that when you don’t know who’s going, it’s pretty likely that it’s you…heads up, Jessica!) So the rest of the group comes up with a story to tell her.
Originally, Aitu had the following order for elimination: Ozzy, Flicka (Jessica), Sundra, then Jonathan. But they have a lot to think about before the next immunity challenge.
The tree mail was awesome. It was a catalog of things the tribe can go for in the reward challenge. Aitu chose a bag of potatoes and peanut butter. Raro chose peanut butter and bread.
Again, Ozzy is the biggest superstar of the challenge. There’s just no stopping him! Rebecca slowed things down for Raro, then gives the group a free shot at her breasts when her top was all out of place when she came out of the water. Brad wasn’t swimming because he’s “better with puzzles.” You’ve got to wonder how much better Raro would have done if Brad had been a swimmer. After the challenge, Nate got to go back to Raro. Nate was really p***ed off at Brad for not swimming. The whole team is now upset with him. (Look out, Brad!)
Aitu won the challenge and sent Adam to Exile Island. A huge storm blew up and he had to make a little makeshift shelter. It looked pretty miserable.
Ozzy caught a seagull and the group decided to eat it. then he did his tree climbing coconut gathering thing. They’d be stupid to vote him off at this point. He’s the provider. They’re thinking they should vote him off before the merge. None of the tribe members trust Jonathan so he’s a possible person to go too.
The immunity challenge involved another puzzle and getting puzzle pieces over water. Have they run out of new ideas for challenges? But take a look at Yul’s arms!
Finally, Raro won the immunity. They really needed that. That means that Aitu had to go to tribal counsel and eliminate someone.
Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Jonathan’s voice sounds exactly like Alan Alda? It’s a bit strange….
The team was debating about sending home either Jonathan, Ozzy or Jessica. Everyone got annoyed with Jessica because she tried to play all the sides.
The tribe talked about the whole ethnicity question at the tribal counsel. They all said that people made friends and alliances because of their personalities, not their ethnicities. I’m glad to see that my fears were unrealized.
Jessica didn’t see it coming, but she got voted off the island.
My college roommate used to have a saying: “When you least expect it…expect it!” Jessica should have known.
